How to Place a Teaser Bet on PointsBet

Last Updated:

What is a teaser?

  • A teaser is a type of bet where you can adjust the point spread or totals line in your favor, but in exchange for a lower payout.
  • It is a popular bet type among sports bettors who want to increase their chances of winning by adjusting the lines to their favor.

How to place a teaser on PointsBet Sportsbook:

  1. Log in to your PointsBet account.
  2. Navigate to the sport and game you want to bet on.
  3. Select the “Teasers” option under the Bet Types menu.
  4. Choose the specific teaser you want to place (e.g., 2-team, 3-team, etc.).
  5. Adjust the point spread or totals line for each selection in the teaser.
  6. Enter the amount you want to bet.
  7. Submit your bet.

Example from the NBA:

Let’s say the point spread for a game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Brooklyn Nets is Lakers -6.5 and the total is set at 220. If you choose to place a 2-team 6-point teaser, you can adjust the point spread to Lakers -0.5 and the total to 214. In this case, the adjusted lines work in your favor, but the payout will be lower than a straight bet on the original lines.
