Game 1 was a tough one betting-wise. Solar hit a home run at the first at-bat of the game and the momentum never left Atlanta. Up 2-0 at the first and ended the game, winning 6-2. Today is a new day and we’ll make up for the last loss with tonight’s big winning bet. The insights to the game and my picks are below.
•on the moneyline, 61% of the public wagered 76% of the money on the Astros. The line has moved from -115 to -105
•on the runs total, 67% of the public wagered 88% of the money on the over. The line has stayed at 8.5 runs at -110 odds.
•on the run line, 50% of the public have wagered 50% of the money on the Astros. The Astros started as the -1.5 favorite at +165 odds and now are the +1.5 run underdog at -190 odds.
What They Mean
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. The reverse line movement that is happening on the Astros fooled me Game 1 but will not fool me Game 2. The Astros are the more well-known team throughout the country and seem to have the majority betting them heavily. The line moving in the opposite direction of the wagers is what is reverse line movement. It appears the books are looking to cash out big on these games by giving Astros fans better odds the more they bet them. Because of this, I will be betting 2 units on the Atlanta Braves.
