Who would’ve thought that Game 5 would be an elimination game for the Dodgers? Everyone expected the Braves to be in this position yet here we are. The Braves look to solidify their trip to the World Series tonight as they play game 5 in Los Angeles. If needed, the next 2 games will be in Atlanta. Are people hopping off the LA bandwagon? I’ll let you know the insights plus what I am betting tonight.
The Insights
•29% of the public have wagered 43% of the money on the Dodgers. The line has moved from -140 to -145 in favor of the Dodgers.
•80% of the public wagered 80% of the money on the over. The total has stayed at 8 points.
•64% of the public wagered 53% of the money on the Dodgers. The line moved from +145 to +140.
What They Mean
It appears that the public has jumped ship to Atlanta. Understandably so with how LA performed to start the series. I do think that this is an overcorrection by the public. When less than 30% are moving the line in their favor, it tells me the big bettors are still backing LA. The over/under insights, to me, say there is a trap happening. It seems the perception is, if the Braves win, they win by a lot in a high-scoring game. I think the opposite happens. That’s why I am betting the LA Dodgers on the moneyline -145.
